Martin Patrick Londergan, DDS


Age 68, of Wilmington passed away suddenly on August 9, 2012.

Marty "Doc" was born in Wilmington, the son of the late Alice (Hurley) and Martin C. Londergan. He was a graduate of St. Matthews Grade school, Archmere Academy, Class of 1961, Holy Cross University and the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Marty practiced dentistry in Wilmington for over 40 years. He served his country in the US Air Force and was a past commander and actively involved in the Delaware Veterans Post #1 in North Wilmington. Doc was an original member on the Archmere Alumni Association and member of the Sports Hall of Fame. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Tara Lynn Kilian and his brother, Michael.

Doc will be deeply missed by his wife of 48 years, Barbara (Kolodi) Londergan; his daughter, Kimberly Londergan-Colburn and her husband, Chris of Wilmington; his son, Sean Patrick and his fiancee, Krista Brady of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Tara, Paige, Kayleigh Brady, Camryn and Sean, Jr. Also surviving are his sister, Ann Bartosh and her husband, Jim and their daughters, Kate and Michelle and his brother-in-law, Michael Kolodi and his wife, Darlene and their children, Mitch and Kate.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 12 Noon at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Shipley and Weldin Roads, where friends may call after 10 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Archmere Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship Fund c/o Archmere Academy, 3600 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703.
