Thomas "Jim" Walklett

Jim served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as a ground radio operator. He had a long and successful career at DuPont until his retirement. One of his proudest accomplishments was being a co-founder of the Brandywine Little League which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. Jim was a long time member of the DuPont Country Club where he was an avid golfer. He was also a member of the DuPont Retiree Bowling League and the Delaware Veterans Club.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Willetta "Billie" Walklett, his brother Harry Walklett, 5 children and their spouses, Sharon Kukich (Nicholas), Thomas, Jr. (Sharon), Terrence, Todd (Denise) and Trent (Michele). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Travis, Trevor, Ashley, Terrence, Jr., Kaci, Karlee, Kassy, Makena, Devyn, Natalie and Liam.

A viewing for friends will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Chandler Funeral Home followed by a Military Service, open to all, at 2:00 pm at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, DE 19701. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Jim's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or by visiting www.stjude.org.
