Women’s Activity Club (WAC)

The Women’s Activity Club (WAC) of Delaware Veteran’s Post #1 was established in 1995 by a group of women associated with the Post.

The primary goal of the WAC is to seek out and support 501(c)3 organizations within our community, as well as military and veteran groups that survive on donations. Many different events are held at Del Vets Post #1 to raise money to meet this goal. Included are an annual September spaghetti dinner and basket raffle, a potato bar dinner on Thanksgiving Eve, a Christmas auction, WAC-Y Bingo, and a St. Patrick’s Day dinner. In the past, other fundraisers have included a chili cook-off/dinner, a “Minute-to-Win-It” tournament, craft fair, and comedy night. Del Vets Post #1 supports the activities of the WAC and in turn, the WAC assists the Post in their endeavors.

In addition to monetary donations, the Women’s Activity Club sponsors various collections that allow us to donate items such as food for local food banks, toiletry and clothing needs for the homeless, school supplies for Title 1 schools in the area, and local coat drives for children.

The Women’s Activity Club meets on the first Tuesday of each month in the Del Vets hall at 7:15pm from September through May. New members are always welcome and do not need to be a member of the Post. An end-of-the-year dinner is held in May to celebrate our accomplishments.
